The Board of Trustees of Maine Maritime Academy consists of 16 members all of whom are appointed by the Governor. Members are appointed for a five-year term and may be re-appointed at the discretion of the Governor.
The Board has full legal responsibility and authority for the governance of Maine Maritime Academy. It appoints the President of the Academy, approves the establishment of academic programs, confers degrees on students who have completed all requirements for graduation, sets tuition rates and operating budgets, and more.
The Board is required by statute to meet at least four times a year. Meeting dates for 2011 and 2012 are:
